Do underwater lights attract fish?
Yes — but indirectly. Light builds a food chain, and the food chain brings the fish.
The chain reaction
Underwater light does not lure fish the way bait does. It concentrates plankton, which draws shrimp and baitfish, which draws the predators anglers actually want.
That sequence is why a light performs better in week three than on night one. You are building a habitat, not flipping a switch.
What makes a light productive
Wavelength, output, mounting depth and consistency. Green light penetrates Southwest Florida's tannic and turbid water better than most colors, and a light left on every night trains a feeding pattern.
